Opening Week

We have been open for a 6 days now at Budd’s Gunisao Lake Lodge.  Half of the lake is still covered with ice but our famous “Walleye Hole” is open for business.  The ice has only been out of “Walleye Hole” for 6 days now and the ice in front of the lodge just left on May 19th.  We have cause 12 Master Anglers in the first 4 days of fishing with only 10 fisherman on the water.  Yesterday, however, produces 8 Trophy Walleyes including a 32 incher and a 31 incher.  We have also caught 3 Master Angler Northern Pike with the biggest so far at 43 1/2 inches.  The weather has been about 50 degrees with a south west winds so far.  No rain this season yet and the lake water level is down quit a bit from years past.Â
